For all of my life I have been fascinated by the life force and spiritual essence in the land. This interest lead to several landscape paintings and a series of paintings based upon whatever grew in the back yard of every house I have lived in. After listening to the album “Acadie” by Daniel Lanois I was greatly inspired by his tonal imagery and his sense of the land. His music inspired a series of paintings and monoprints based upon his songs. These paintings are much darker than most of my work but it is a darkness that is within all of my images. I am presently exploring archetypes and spiritual imagery.
